‘Love in a Box’ Mustard Seed campaign Christmas 2006
Staff at ADPS spent November raiding the wardrobes of friends and family for empty shoe boxes to support the Mustard Seed ‘Love in a Box’ Christmas 2006 campaign. Boxes filled with gifts for children ranging in ages from 2 -15 years are sent by the charity to orphanages in the Ukraine, Bosnia, Romania and Croatia. The local SW group sent over 5000 boxes in 2005 and ADPS staff added 12 to the 2006 consignment. Items to be added to the boxes include tooth brushes and paste, hair brushes, soap, flannels, toys, colouring crayons and books, puzzles, games and soft toys. ADPS staff were touched by the simplicity of the gifts and are already planning boxes for 2007.
